The neighborhood is safe, he thought.

“You folks didn’t see it?”

He’d asked more than one family.

He did more than point at the sky and wait for fear to strike.

He was rather pushy and adamant to the ignorant residents of this street, however, his actions were to seek clarity.

“Nothing strange?”

He didn’t want to start pandemonium or conspiracy theories.

Help us all if these distant neighbors fall prey to mob mentality.

Humanity wouldn’t last if something as simple as a meteor brought about panic.

Something odd was going on at the other side, his side, of the block. Certainly nothing dangerous awaited him once he’d return.

There were no monsters due on his street – Maple.
